About Maura

Hello, I'm Maura, a Mexican artist.

For as long as I can remember, art has been the way I understand and inhabit the world. I grew up exploring different ways of creating: drawing, painting, ballet, and design. Each of these disciplines has transformed my way of observing, feeling, and expressing myself, and today they all coexist naturally in my work.

In addition to painting, I am a ballet dancer. This practice has deeply influenced my aesthetic sensibility: I find inspiration in movement, balance, the delicacy of forms, and the discipline behind every gesture. My creative process is born precisely from this combination of contemplation and constancy.

I studied Industrial Design, an education that enriched my way of thinking about objects, composition, and materials. However, beyond any profession, I have always recognized myself as an artist. For me, creating is not just producing a work; it is a way of life, of observing everyday details, and of sharing a particular way of looking at the world.

In my studio, I primarily focus on painting and printmaking, although I also teach workshops and explore various creative projects. My main sources of inspiration are nature, especially flowers, ballet, and urban landscapes, themes that constantly appear in my work from an intimate and contemplative perspective.

Every piece you find here is original and created by me. I hope that as you browse this space, you can connect with some of them and make them part of your own story.

Thank you for being here.
