About Maura

Hi, I'm Maura, a Mexican artist and designer. Thanks for visiting my page! I started this project at the end of 2020. It was born in a warehouse full of stuff—the kind you don't even know what's inside and it's scary to go inside—which later transformed into what is now my studio.

(Photo above: Late 2020, a few days after the printing press arrived at the studio. It was the first major investment I made. To this day, I still have a great affection for this machine.)

Since I was a child, I've been drawn to creating things with my hands. I find it incredible how much you can learn to do. I've always loved drawing, and when it came time to choose a career path, I chose Industrial Design, which was more or less what I believed at the time would be the best way to continue exploring my creativity. Perhaps I would have preferred to study fine arts, but for some reason it didn't happen. However, a few years ago, I returned to my profession, dedicating myself fully to art. I believe it's the path for me, where I feel most fulfilled and where I think I can contribute the most to this world.

On this page, you'll find a taste of everything I do in the studio. They're all original works, created by me, an expression of who I am, what I've experienced, and how I see the world. I hope you enjoy it!
